Aberdeen theatre acts over eBay picture auction

Management at Aberdeen’s His Majesty’s Theatre are to call in the police after valuable signed pictures of stars were put up for auction on the eBay website.
The 21 framed and autographed photographs of Hollywood greats who treaded the boards at HMT have been posted on the auction website.

Theatre managers said they have no record of the images being removed and are now trying to get them back.

Included are actor Gary Cooper and singer and actress Marlene Dietrich.

HMT chief executive Duncan Hendry said some of the photographs had been displayed in the theatre in the mid-1990s and others were kept in its archive.

He added that they were not stored at the theatre during the recent refurbishment, so could not have been removed during that period.
