KERSH Auctions has raised nearly £8m from two property auctions in the past week – in Liverpool and London.

Its latest Merseyside event saw 70% of properties sold, releasing £5.6m in receipts. Successful lots included a retail unit in Southport that went for nearly double its £50,000 guide price.

Moss Lane Social Club in Orrell Park, Liverpool, also achieved nearly a 20% gain on its reserve price.

In London, Kersh’s joint venture with auctioneer Andrew Binstock is also proving to be a hit with the latest event generating £2.3m.

Kersh director James Kersh said: “Retail opportunities are spearheading a change in investors’ thinking at auction, making them think about broadening their portfolio.
