Historic vintages of Chateau Petrus and Chateau d’Yquem go on sale in auctions in Europe in the next two weeks by Christie’s International, Sotheby’s and Bonhams.
Christie’s estimates that five bottles of Chateau d’Yquem dessert wine from the 1893 vintage will fetch between 5,500 euros ($8,160) and 6,500 euros at auction in Paris on Nov. 29. A single bottle of 1921 Yquem may go for 1,300 euros to 1,500 euros.
Five bottles of 1982 Chateau Petrus from the Pomerol producer may fetch 13,000 euros to 16,000 euros, while six bottles of 1990 Petrus carry an estimate of 14,000 euros to 18,000 euros. Sotheby’s also has Petrus from 1998 and 2000 in its Dec. 5 auction in London, accounting for six of the top lots by estimated value.
