Suffolk auction worker loses Christmas bonus

Workers at a Suffolk auction house are facing a bleak run-up to Christmas after a worker lost £2,500 intended for pay bonuses and a charity donation.

Blackburn Rovers FA cup final programme fetches 920 pounds at London auction

Before the sale, at Graham Budd Auctions, at Sotheby’s Olympia, experts accurately predicted the programme, for the 1928 Blackburn versus Huddersfield FA Cup final, would sell for between £800 and £1,000.
In the end it fetched £920. The buyer successfully bid £800, there is also an extra £120 to the auctioneers in buyers’ premium.

Vlamincks painting sold at Czech auction

The picture by French Fauvist painter Maurice de Vlaminck (1876-1958), made 5.3 million crowns.
Experts had estimated the price of the painting dated 1914 at 7 million crowns.
Dorotheum auction house director Marie Galova said that the Czech fine arts market has a very local character and that local buyers show interest mainly in Czech authors.
