Published December 22nd, 2007
Border items made redundant by Poland’s Thursday midnight entry into Schengen free-travel zone are to be auctioned to help refugees, according to the Internet site of Poland’s liberal Gazeta Wyborcza daily.
Red-and-white striped barriers, signs reading “State Border — No Entry”, “No Photos” and “The Border Guard Commander receives questions and complaints Monday from 1300 hrs to 1700 hrs” among others, will go on the block.
Just over 30 items will be sold on Polish auction website Allegro for a minimum price of 300 zlotys (83 euros, 119 dollars) each.
