Bloomsbury Musical Instruments Auction Rome May 7

Bloomsbury Auctions is holding its first ever sale of Musical Instruments and related works on paper to take place in Rome on Wednesday, May 7th. The Claude Lebet collection of musical instruments, paintings, books, manuscripts and autographs related to music will be sold in our Rome saleroom.
Claude Lebet is a leading and world renowned violin-maker and collector in the field of musical instruments and related material. The sale comprises rare instruments by Grancino, Guadagnini, Maggini, and Panormo from the 17th and 18th centuries. Claude Lebet commented: “The instruments have an extraordinary sound range that collectors will be able to appreciate as they represent a true selection of the quality of Italian and French violin makers.”

Viewing of the collection will be in Rome from Sunday, May 5th to Wednesday, May 7th. On Monday, May 5th at 7.00 pm a concert of chamber music will follow the viewing. The sale will take place on Wednesday, May 7th at 5.00 pm.
